Polish Industrial Output Rises Unexpectedly
Poland's industrial production increased 1.4 percent from a year earlier in November 2019, easing from a 3.5 percent expansion in the previous month and defying market expectations of zero growth. Manufacturing output rose only slightly (0.2 percent), while strong growth rates were recorded for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (14.4 percent), water supply; sewerage, waste management & remediation activities (5.3 percent) and mining & quarrying (3.4 percent).

Polish Industrial Output Growth Beats Estimates
Poland's industrial output growth slowed to 3.5 percent year-on-year in October of 2019 from 5.6 percent in the previous month, still beating market expectations of 2.6 percent. Output rose at a softer pace for manufacturing (3.5 percent vs 5.7 percent in September) and for water supply, sewerage waste management (8.3 percent from 9.0 percent) while mining & quarrying production dropped (-6.1 percent vs 2.2 percent). On the other hand, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output advanced faster (6.4 percent from 3.9 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial activity went up 7.8 percent, following a 10.7 percent rise in September.

Polish Industrial Output Rebounds in September
Industrial production in Poland increased 5.6 percent year-on-year in September of 2019, recovering from a 1.3 percent fall in the previous month and above market expectations of a 5.0 percent rise. Output rebounded for manufacturing (5.7 percent vs -1.3 percent in August); mining & quarrying (2.2 percent vs -8.4 percent) and electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (3.9 percent vs -0.3 percent). In addition, water supply, sewerage & waste management production advanced faster (9.0 percent vs 6.6 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial activity went up 10.7 percent, rebounding from a 6.0 percent fall in August.

Poland Industrial Output Unexpectedly Falls in August
Industrial production in Poland decreased 1.3 percent year-on-year in August of 2019, down from a 5.8 percent jump in the previous month and missing market expectations of a 1.7 percent gain. Output fell for manufacturing (-1.3 percent vs 6.6 percent in July) and continued to drop for both electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning (-0.3 percent vs -1.2 percent) and mining & quarrying (-8.4 percent vs -5.1 percent). Meantime, production rose at a softer pace for water supply, sewerage & waste management (6.6 percent vs 10.9 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial production slumped 6 percent, after rising 2.8 percent in July.

Industrial production in Poland increased 5.8 percent year-on-year in July of 2019, recovering from a 2.7 percent fall in the previous month and below market expectations of a 6.6 percent rise. Output rebounded for manufacturing (6.6 percent vs -3.4 percent in June) and production advanced faster for water supply, sewerage & waste management (10.9 percent vs 2.3 percent). On the other hand, output dropped for electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply (-1.2 percent from 5.5 percent) and mining & quarrying (-5.1 percent from -1.9 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial activity went up 2.8 percent, after a 5.9 percent slump in June.

Poland Industrial Output Falls for 1st Time in 2 Years
Industrial production in Poland decreased 2.7 percent year-on-year in June of 2019, down from a 7.7 percent jump in the previous month and against market expectations of a 2 percent gain. It is the first drop in industrial activity since April of 2017, as output fell for manufacturing (-3.4 percent from 7.8 percent in May) and mining & quarrying (-1.9 percent from 4.7 percent). Also, production slowed for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (5.5 percent from 6.8 percent) and water supply, sewerage waste management (2.3 percent from 9.4 percent).Considering the second quarter of the year, industrial production rose 4.6 percent over the same period a year earlier, lower than a 6.1 percent gainin the first quarter. Considering the first half of the year, industrial production grew 5.1 percent over a year ago.
